Bethesda liet weten dat de eerste DLC voor The Evil Within begin volgend jaar zal verschijnen met de naam The Assignment.
In The Assignment wordt er meer aandacht besteed aan Juli Kidman, dit is de partner van Detective Sabastian Castellanos. John Johanas laat weten dat de DLC geïnspireerd is door Chapter 5 en 9 uit The Evil Within;
Chapter 9 had you uncover past stories by solving puzzles and exploring and there is a lot of that in the DLC. Overall, Juli’s adventure is rather story driven – Juli tends to ‘discover’ these things by her actions and by solving puzzles. But at the same time, the atmosphere and progression is similar to Chapter 5, where you were trapped in a very oppressive area and the ‘horror’ element was at its strongest.
Het tweede deel van de DLC, The Consequence, zal later in 2015 verschijnen. Je kunt de delen los aanschaffen maar er zal ook een Season Pass komen waarin The Assignment, The Consequence en nog een laatste deel zitten. In dit laatst deel moet je verschillende opdrachten uitvoeren als The Keeper, ook wel bekend als The Boxman.
