Microsoft heeft wat problemen qua exclusieve titels. Al belooft Phil Spencer dat dat vanaf dit jaar opgelost gaat worden (hij is nu zo’n 3 jaar het hoofd bij Xbox dus er zijn behoorlijk wat games onder hem in ontwikkeling). Een gerucht stelt nu dat Microsoft dit ook aan wil pakken door EA over te kopen, aldus Polygon.
Some of the names being thrown around as possible acquisitions by Microsoft are, frankly, astounding, even unthinkable. But the fact that they are doing the rounds is instructive. The most recent one we heard (from a reliable source close to Microsoft) was, in fact, Electronic Arts. We also heard a whisper about Valve and about Korean outfit PUBG Corp., which Microsoft last year signed to a timed exclusive for its hit survival shooter, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds.
Mocht het waar zijn, dan spreken we hier over de grootste overname in de industrie. Daarnaast zou het een gigantisch effect op gaming kunnen hebben. Microsoft geeft aan geen commentaar te willen leveren.
